Obituary

Daisy Ellen Carter, age 85, of Caneyville, KY, finished her race and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, (September 5, 2026) at Heartford House Inpatient Care Center in Owensboro, KY.

She was born on June 01, 1941, in Blacksburg, VA, the daughter of the late Samuel and Dana Reece Linkous.

She had worked at local sewing factories and as office manager for her son’s mobile home business. Daisy loved to sing and would do so when she had an opportunity. Growing her flowers of all varieties and colors was one of her favorite past times. She collected candles and milk glass items. She could spend all day with her credit card and shop on QVC shopping network. She also loved to listen to Jimmy Swaggert when she couldn’t attend church. Daisy loved and adored all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended Millwood Apostolic Church for over 31 years.

She is survived by her sons, David Carter (Lisa), Sam Carter (Trish), and Daniel Carter; four grandchildren, Crystal Edwards, (Trevor), Chelsea Carter, Sarah Williamson (Brandon), and Aniah Ahmad; three great-grandchildren, Ike and Cadance Edwards, and Lydia Williamson; and three nieces, Joyce, Janet, and Martha.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Kendall Daisy Edwards; nephew, Richard Spencer; and two sisters, Billy Linkous and Summer Spencer.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, (September 13, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Keith Shepherd will be officiating. Burial will be in the Millwood Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. on Sunday until time of services.
