Obituary
Dale Monroe Payton, age 65, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (January 16, 2014) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.
He was born on May 8, 1948 in Yeaman, KY, the son of the late Victor and Goldie Duncan Payton.
He was a mechanic who enjoyed watching television, fishing, gardening, and building porches. He attended New Harvest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Smith Payton of Leitchfield; three sons, Eric Dale Payton of Leitchfield, Gregory Payton and his wife, Lanette of Big Clifty, and Brian Payton and his wife, Michelle of Leitchfield; seven grandchildren, Michael Thomas, Cody Payton, Taylor Basham, Tyler Payton, Brett Payton, Shayla Payton, and Ethan Payton; one great-grandson, Aiden Payton; six sisters, Edna Copas, Juanita Cook, and Linda Meurer all of Indiana, Regina Harris, Lucille Payton, and Teresa Raymer all of Leitchfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Herschel, David, Jesse, and George Payton.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, (January 20, 2014) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jeremy Atwood will be officiating. Burial will be in the McGrady Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
