Obituary

David "Cobb" Day, age 76, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Thursday, (December 23, 2021) at his home.

He was born on September 14, 1945 in Grayson County, KY, to the late Delmer and Dale Edwards Day.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was awarded a silver star and a purple heart for his service in Vietnam. He went on to work at, and retire from, GE after 30 years with the company, and served as a Magistrate to Grayson County. He also worked for the county in animal control, was a former Board Member of Breckinridge-Grayson Head Start, and was a member of Shrewsbury Missionary Baptist Church. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed farming, hunting, and riding horses.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Renfrow Day; his daughter, Lynn Harris (Eddie); two sisters, Doris Cooper of Caneyville and Judy Baxter of Duff; and a brother, Delmer Day of Caneyville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Earlene Minton and Carolyn Beasley; and three brothers, Clayton, Sherman & Billy Day.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (December 29, 2021) at the Dermitt Funeral Home. Bro. Ralph Beard will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
