David Nelson, age 93, of Westview, KY passed away Friday, (May 31, 2024) at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg, KY.

He was born on July 31, 1930 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late James Robert and Jerldina Zachery Nelson.

He retired from Phillip Morris Tobacco Company working as a mechanic for 35 years. He enjoyed wood working, working on small motors, and loved to take walks every morning. In his earlier years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his children, Ronald Nelson (Sherry) of Missouri, and Bro. Kendall Nelson (Kathie) of Indiana; his "best" best friend, Deborah Carter; grandchildren, Tara Robison (Joe), Bryan Nelson, Tiffany Nelson, Brittany Nelson, Patricia Reed-McGuire (John), and Shannon Tierney (Kyle); nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Vernie, Earl, Elsie, Woodrow, Dwayne, Slayton, Raymond, and Zelphie Nelson, Irene Woosley, and Marjorie Cook.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, (June 7, 2024) at the Nelson Cemetery on Layman Road. Bro. Ken Nelson will be officiating.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, with Graveside Services to follow at the cemetery.
