David Earl Sanders, age 80, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Monday, (July 24, 2023) at Springview Nursing and Rehabilitation.

He was born on January 15, 1943 in Breckinridge County, KY, the son of the late Arthur Jay and Clara Francis Saunders Sanders.

He was a truck driver who enjoyed working on cars, hot rods and assembling model cars. He was a collector of guns, enjoyed trading, working puzzles, and loved good bargain. He was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Millwood.

He is survived by loving wife of 57 years, Doris Laverne Parks Sanders; sons, Ethan Parks and Jean-Luc Patrick Leasor; one brother, Paul Sanders; one sister, Sharon Meador; two nephews, Joshua and Bryan; and four nieces Shannon, Daphney, Christina, and Wilma. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Sanders and eight siblings: Elsie, Mary, William, Robert Jr., Leslie, Lucille, Barbara Kay and Carl Ray.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, (July 31, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Paul Parks will be officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Dermitt Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
