Delda Sanders Downs, age 71, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Monday, (September 20, 2010) at her home in Caneyville.

She was born on August 17, 1939, in Grayson Co., KY, the daughter of the late Earl and Jessie Sanders. She was a housewife and a member of the Anneta United Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Barry Wane Downs (Charlene), Larry Carter Downs (Marcia) and Linda Raymer (Barry). She is also survived by two granddaughters, Stacy Suzanne Downs and Laura Leanne Newton (Blake) and a step granddaughter and two step grandsons, Mandy Gordon (Charles), Anthony Embry (Tracy), Matt Embry (Tara), and Step great grandchildren, Audrey Gordon, Breanna, Breonna and Xavier Noe. Other survivors include her brothers and sisters, Nelda Wood (Randall), Agnes Duvall (Charles), Janette Pierce (Phillip), Junior Ray Sanders, Charles Edward Sanders (Judy), Jimmy Sanders (Nita) and several nieces and nephews. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Downs, two brothers and one sister, Leon, Rockie and Loretta Sanders.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Thursday (September 23, 2010) at the Anneta United Baptist Church. Bro. David Wilson will be officiating. Burial will be in the Anneta Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and the church from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
