Deloris Ferguson, age 79, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (May 29, 2010) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

She was born on April 25, 1931 in Grayson Co., KY, the daughter of the late Elton and Mollie Scott Helson. She and her late husband, Vernon, were owner and operators of the former Ferguson's Grocery in Leitchfield.

She is survived by three sons, Michael (Laurie) of Elsworth, WI, and Gayle (Edie) and Gregory (Linda) Ferguson both of Leitchfield, five daughters, Mary Lou Duvall (Damon) of Houston TX, Deborah Scott (Thomas) of Round Hill, KY, Beverly Eaton (Lawton) of Glasgow, KY, Nedra Lindsey (Jerry) and Sheila Johnson (Rex) both of Leitchfield, three brothers, Jim Helson of Paducah, KY, Ronnie Helson of Canton, OH and Larry Helson of Leitchfield, three sisters, Nora Huber and Marcella Downs both of Leitchfield and Margie Stevenson of Clarkson, KY, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon and a brother and sister, Harold Helson and Irene Smith.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (June 1, 2010) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, from 9:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
