Obituary
Dessie R. Evans, age 90, of Millwood, KY, passed away Thursday, (March 29, 2012) at her residence.
She was born on August 1, 1921, in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Walter and Barbara Decker Green. She worked as a laundry attendant at Ft. Knox and was a member of the Zion Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Lannie Evans (Debbie) of Elizabethtown, KY and Walter Evans (Marsha) of Massachusetts, a daughter, Darlene Kirk of Elizabethtown, KY, a sister, Callie Carter of Millwood, KY, three grandsons, Cody, Tommy, and Ryan Evans and four great grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Evans, her sister Sylvie Kinser, her brother Berthel Green, and her son-in-law Tony Kirk.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am CST on Monday (April 2, 2012) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Vol Layman Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. CST Sunday (April 1, 2012) and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until the time of service.
