Dewey Alvin (D.A.) Lasley, age 59, of Elizabethtown, KY, was born in November 1962 as the third of four children. . He was the son of Mary Louise Lasley (Logsdon) and the late Damon Richard Lasley of Grayson Springs, Ky and the brother of Mona Fulkerson (David), of Leitchfield, Damon Lasley Jr. (Kathy) of Clarkson, and Derrick Lasley (Deanna) of Leitchfield.

Dewey was married twice, first, to his high school sweetheart Dottie, with whom he had two children, Amanda and Daniel. In 1990, he married his second wife, Sandra, whose three kids, Christal, Jed and Dustin, he immediately claimed as his own, and then his total of kids came to 6 with the birth of their youngest, Mariah.

Father of Christal Dempster (husband Donnie), Jed Buckles (wife Brandi), and Dustin Buckles (Katie), of Elizabethtown, Amanda Lasley of Connelly Springs, NC, Daniel Lasley (wife Holly) and Mariah Lasley, of Elizabethtown. He is grandfather to Cody (Beth), Sarah, Lexi, Alanna, Peyton, Jackson, Isabella and Dedan and great-grandfather to Brooklynn, Karter, Kash and Jersey.

Preceded in death by father Damon Lasley of Leitchfield and wife Sandra (Sutton) of Elizabethtown, whom he loved deeply and cared for throughout their 23 year marriage.

Dewey was always a hardworking man.
He worked in the farm fields as a young boy, then in the Allen trucking business, at Campbell Hausfield, then AP Technoglass. He worked as a dedicated and well-liked employee for 27yrs at Ambrake/Akebono in Elizabethtown, until early onset Alzheimer's forced him to an early retirement in 2018. Before illness took his ability to work, he was always doing some sort of combination of farm work, home construction and his own automotive projects. He was taken too soon, but he will never be forgotten as the hard working, good humored man that we all knew and loved.
For his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who may not remember him well, the important thing is to know that he loved you all and was very proud of each of you.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. CST, Monday, (February 7, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.  Burial will be next to his wife and beside his father at Antioch General Baptist church cemetery. Bro. Damon Lasley, Jr will be officiating.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. CST to 8:00 p.m. CST, Sunday, (February 6, 2022) and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
