Diane Ward, age 68, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 08, 2026.

She was born on June 12, 1958 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Oscar and Nelma Newton Decker.

She was a hardworking housewife, who enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family, especially her grand and great-grand babies.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Randall “Randy” Ward; one daughter, Melissa Decker (Mickey) and one son, Jason Ward (Nancy) both of Leitchfield; seven grandchildren, Kyra Nelson, Kyler Burnett (Kylie), Dalton Decker (Makayla), Madison Saltsman (Nate) all of Leitchfield, Taylor Ward (Dillan) of Jacksonville, FL, Brianna Ward of Newport, KY and Haley Hensel (Michael) of Rockwall, TX; 15 great-grandchildren. Bently Geary, Carson Powell, Chevy Decker, Maxxis, Ayden, Kade and Hallie Nelson, Abygail, Blake and Huxley Burnett, Dallis and Kole Dilks, Hendrix Lyons, Wrenlee Ward, Silas Saltsman and one on the way, Cayti-Jo Decker; four sisters, Faye Sego, Ina Green (James), Jocie Chambers (Ernie), Charlene Downs (Barry); four sisters-in-law, Jennie Decker, Susie Decker, Melissa “Missy” Decker and Brenda Newton; and two brothers-in-law, Harlan McGrew and Elroy Cook. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Harold, Orin, Oscar Jr., Gilbert, Ronnie, Robert and Timmy Decker; three sisters, Mary McGrew, Elaine Cook & Betty Saltsman and one granddaughter, Kayti Decker.

In accordance with Diane’s wishes, cremation was chosen. No funeral services will be held at this time. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
