Donald “Donnie” Ray Arnold Sr., age 78, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (March 14, 2026) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on March 15, 1947, in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Leon and Bessie Burkhead Arnold.

Having worked at Louisville Ladder for several years, Donnie was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Many of his friends referred to him as a “man’s man.” He enjoyed farming, was an avid sports fan and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Mt. Hebron Gospel Mission Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Freda Mae Samuels Arnold of Leitchfield; his children, Buddy Arnold (Marsha) of Leitchfield, Michelle Harrell (Brian) of Bowling Green, Michael Arnold (Mary) of McDaniels and Chloe Fields (Ryan) of Leitchfield; five grandchildren, Jonathon Arnold, Keeghan Harrell (Macie), Hayden Harrell, Lynnlea Clemons and Waylon Arnold; one great-grandchild, Silas Harrell; brother-in-laws, Jimmy, Carroll, Danny, and Tommy Samuels; and a sister-in-law, Margie Noe. Several nieces, nephews, a host of friends and many who called him Dad also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law; a brother, Robert Arnold; and a sister, Stella Bray.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. CST Saturday, (March 21, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jimmy Douthitt will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mt.Hebron Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. CST Saturday until time of services.
