Donald "Duck" Russell Sr., age 84, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (January 1, 2015) at Twin Lakes regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on May 2, 1930 in Bee Springs, KY, the son of the late Ernest and Notie Carroll Russell.

He was a retired bridge builder, who enjoyed Fishing, Hunting, Wrestling and UK Basketball.

He is survived by his children, Tresa Hayes, Charles Russell, Rita Nash (Mike) and Sandra Dean (JB) all of Leitchfield, Tammy Owen (Frankie) of Taylorsville, KY, Melisa Ingram (Marty) and Donald Russell Jr. (Chrissy), also of Leitchfield, Geraldine Carman (Buzzy) of Hardinsburg, KY, the mother of his children, Mary Sanders. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers Glen and Garlan Russell, five sisters Jewell Miller, Helen Cockeriel, Hallie Sanders, Sina Mcgalin, Ida Whobery and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (January 6, 2015) at the Dermitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery in Bee Springs, KY.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
