Donnie Higdon, age 74, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Sunday, (March 30, 2025).

Donnie was a man whose life embodied love, faith, and devotion. He was born on November 7, 1950, to Wilbert and Geneva Hill Higdon, who preceded him in death. Donnie found joy and purpose in his family, community, and passions.

Donnie married Barbara Mercer on February 20, 2010; and together they built an extraordinary life centered around faith and love. A devoted member of St. Anthony Parish of Peonia, Donnie's commitment to his church was evident in his passion for cooking for his church family.

Donnie cherished farming, running his dozer, and spending time with his beloved fur babies. His warmth and kind-hearted spirit touched everyone who knew him.

Proceeded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Geneva Higdon; as well as siblings, Christy Anderson, Sue Harp, Bruce Dennis, and Gary Higdon; and nephew Jeffery Anderson; Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Barbara and their children, Anthony Howard, Annessa Snowden (Michael), Savannah Bridges (Scott), and Heather Searcy. Donnie also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren, Cole, Charlie, Bailey, Riley, and Taylor; and four sisters, Ellen Schrader (Rick), Rhonda Williams (Kenny), Lynn Carroll (Glendel), and Darlene Kerr (Leroy).

Donnie will be also deeply missed by his dear friends, Tommy Higdon, Bill Cooper, Earl Higdon, Roger Martin, and Judy Clemons; along with countless others whose lives he touched.

May Donnie's soul rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love he brought into this world.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, (April 3, 2025) at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Peonia. Father Brian Johnson, Father Brandon Williams, and Father Stephen Van Lal Than will be officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home until time to leave for services at the church.

A prayer service will be held on Wednesday night beginning at 6:00 p.m.
