Doris M. Grant, age 89, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (January 29, 2024) in Elizabethtown, KY.

She was born on July 8, 1934 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late  Joseph C. and Sarah Myrtle Armstrong Dennison.

She was a home maker who enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting and cooking. Doris also enjoyed traveling and watching University of Kentucky sports. She married Tilford Grant on April 28, 1950. She loved riding along with her husband as he drove his delivery route. She helped him with his work after he became ill and they were inseparable until his death in 2011.  She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of First Baptist Church in Leitchfield.

She is survived by her children, Tilford (Buddy) Grant, Jr. and Susan Nickell (George) all of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren, Kim, Kristi, Tim, Susie, and Brian; eleven great-grandchildren, Darius, Mariah, Makayla, Amara, Ronan, Briana, Gaven, JC, Jackson , Kyra, and Noah; and two great-great-grandchildren, Khaila and Khalil.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tilford Grant, Sr.; son, Tommy Grant, daughter, Becky Grant; great-grandchild, Tavon Breckinridge; and brothers, Clifford, Charles, W.C., Henry Thomas, Walter, and Jesse Dennison.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. (CST) Sunday, (February 4, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Brian Combs will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
(CST) on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
