Doris Lavern Sanders, age 76, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Friday, (May 23, 2025) at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

She was born on May 02, 1948 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Hayward and Doris Shane Parks.

She was a housewife and caregiver who enjoyed cooking, keeping a clean house, flower gardening, having family over and helping friends and family raise their children. She was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Millwood.

She is survived by her son, Ethan Parks; four brothers, Roger, Danny, Curtis and Jeff Parks; and a sister, Carolyn Young. Several nieces, nephews and honorary children also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Sanders; a son, Ronnie Sanders; and two brothers, Junior & Joey Parks.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, (June 03, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Keith Shepard will be officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
