Doris Christine (Chris) Swift, age 65, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (March 12, 2014) at Hosparus Inpatient Care in Louisville, KY.

She was born on September 1, 1948, in Louisville, KY, the daughter of James Reginald and Thelma Maye White Ballard.

She was a housewife and homemaker, who enjoyed crocheting and reading and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Arvil Swift, five sons, Allan (Pam), Tony (Tracy) Andy, Dwayne, and Randy (Chelsea) Swift all of Leitchfield, seven grandchildren, Amy, Shyanna, Cody, Jacob, Kaitlin, Kevin and Natalie, two great grandchildren, Carley and Emily, her mother, Thelma Maye Ballard of Louisville, three brothers, Kenny and Bernie Ballard of Louisville and Hank Ballard of New York, one sister, Libby Jecker of Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her father, James, and a brother Mike Ballard.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (March 15, 2014) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Mark Claypool will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
