Dorothy Jean Larson, age 88, of Louisville, KY, passed away Thursday, (September 08, 2022) at her home.

She was born on August 09, 1934 in Cub Run, KY, the daughter of the late Thurman and Lillie Jones Thompson.

She served on the Board of Directors for The Larson Foundation, which donated to the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and other charitable organizations. She enjoyed shopping, antiquing, golfing, and attending Christian Concerts. She was a member of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville.

She is survived by four children, Deborah Kay Brown (Christopher) of Louisville, Lisa Lynn Marinez (George) of North Carolina, Michelle Minor of Los Angeles, California, and Michael Sean Hemberger Sr., also of Louisville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Pat Thompson; two sisters, Margie Stevenson (Cecil) and Wilma Rose Featherston; and her beloved pets Monroe "Monty", Hoover and Yuki. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin "Lars" Larson; a daughter, Pamela Griffith; a grandson, Anthony Marinez; and a brother, Ercel Thompson.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, (September 13, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jim Veihl will be officiating. Burial will be in the Broadway Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
