Douglas "Doug" Wayne Pierce, age 63, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Sunday, (December 1, 2024) at his residence.

He was born on April 14, 1961 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late John L. and Juanita Hill Pierce.

He retired as a road crew worker for the KY State Highway Department after 22 years. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He married Sandra Elder on June 18, 1998. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Pierce of Caneyville; siblings: James (Debbie) Pierce, Cathy (Kenny) Young, Philip (Janetta) Pierce, Ray (Barbara) Pierce, Harold (Kim) Pierce, Mike (Trenya) Pierce, and Loura (Jamie) Ray. Several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Pierce and two nieces, Jamie Pierce and Brandy Bernard.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, (December 5, 2024) at the St, Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield. Father Sinoj Paul Pynadath HGN will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. There will be no visitation on Thursday.
