Doyle Ray Pryor age 90, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (April 3, 2012) at his home.
He was born in the community of Pilgrim on October 5, 1921, the first child of the late Asa and Essie Langley Pryor. Doyle was a retired self-employed farmer and carpenter, an Army veteran of WW II, a member of the Duff Methodist Church and was known by many on the CB as "Lumberjack. He was married June 14, 1944, to Mabel Agnes Carter.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy Pryor Escue of McQuady, KY and Marcia Kay Pryor of Leitchfield, his grandchildren, Scott (Heather) Escue, Susan (Jeremy) Escue Hinton, Sherrie (Darren) Pryor Clemons, Sarah (Roger) Pryor Castleman, Beth (Wes) Pryor Miller and Clay (Leslie) Leveronne. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Maddie and Jake Escue, Owen Hinton, Dakota, Caitlyn, and Jaeden Castleman, one sister, Tommie Compton of Louisville and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel, a son, Gerald Ray, a great-granddaughter, Keely, siblings, Richard Pryor, Jean Fentress, Lorene Carter and Mildred Kiper.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (April 7, 2012) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Bobby Snodgrass will be officiating. Burial will be in the Duff Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Duff Cemetery Association or to Hosparus of Central Kentucky.
