Obituary
Edna Vertrees Barns, age 87, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (January 28, 2013) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.
She was born on August 30, 1925 in Leitchfield, KY, the daughter of the late Gordon Gilbert (G.G.) and Ollie Sunshine Kiper Clarke.
She was a retired sales clerk in the shoe department of Baker Shoes, where she worked for 34 years. She enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of the Leitchfield United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Larry Thomas Vertrees and his wife Deborah of Munford, TN; one brother, Gordon Eugene Clarke and his wife Elizabeth of Sebring, FL; one step-grandson, Casey Miller of Munford, TN; ten nieces and nephews, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Thomas Vertrees, and David L. Barns, three sisters, Josephine Butler, Ruth Aliene Craddock, and Imogene Peirce.
A private family service will be held at Leitchfield United Methodist Church.
