Edward Harold Burnett, age 92, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (November 18, 2015) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born on September 9, 1923 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Willie Madison and Bessie Mae Harrell Burnett.
He was a carpenter and farmer, who enjoyed working, gardening and outdoor activities and was a member of the Duff United Methodist Church.
He is survived by three grandchildren, James Harold Kennedy (Kristin) of Sweeden, KY, Jonathan Kennedy (Theresa) of Hardinsburg KY, and Melissa Carwile (Jared) of Harned, KY, six great-grandchildren, Peyton and Adalynn Kennedy and Brittany, Emily, Maggie and Audrey Carwile and one sister, Alma Shartzer of Leitchfield.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Altha Kathryn Larkin Burnett, whom he married on October 19, 1946; his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jim Kennedy, and a sister, Louise Thomason.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, (November 21, 2015) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jeff McMichael will be officiating. Burial will be in the Duff Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. Friday and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
