Edward Laymon Clemons, age 77, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (March 21, 2007) at his residence.
He was born on April 3, 1929, in Pearman, KY, the son of Andrew and Pernie Ann Johnston Clemons. He was a retired farmer and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Melvie Clemons, five sons, David (Betty), Eddie (Laquita), Patrick (Kelly) and Mark (Shawn) Clemons all of Leitchfield, and Steve (Rhonda) of Clarkson, KY, four daughters, Debbie (Gary) Woods of Lewisport, KY, Donna Smith of Louisville, Pam (Lerond) Miller and Cindy (Billy) Dallas both of Leitchfield, one brother, James Clemons of Louisville, one sister, Edwina Stinson of Cub Run, KY, twenty five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Oral, Clifford, Daymon and Cletus Clemons and three sisters, Coreen Higdon, Angie Hill and Ina Pierce.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (March 24, 2007) at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield under the direction of the Dermitt Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Howard will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Benedict Cemetery. The Prayer service will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday.
