Edward Eugene Lindsey, age 60, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (August 7, 2012) at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
He was born on April 8, 1952, in Leitchfield, Kentucky, the son of Edward Otto Lindsey.
He attended the Church of God of Prophecy, was a lifetime member of the NRA, AMVETS, the PAV and the DAV. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by 1 daughter, Tara Frances Mildred Lindsey of Leitchfield, 2 sons, James Tolbert Otto Lindsey of Leitchfield, and Jeremy Lindsey of Georgia, 3 grandchildren, 4 sisters, Mary Helen Wilson and Tracy Lindsey (Don) of Leitchfield, Lucille Lucas (Arnold) of Leitchfield, Julieanna Prince of Knoxville, TN, and1 brother, Den Dooley (Lisa) of Henderson, KY. He is also survived by his father Otto and step mother, Mildred Lindsey of Millwood, and his former wife, Tona Lindsey of Leitchfield. Also surviving are special friends, Rose Wilson Trafton, Barry Higdon, Jeff McDowell, and many other friends and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ethel Hill, son John Edward Eric Lindsey, an Aunt Gladys Lindsey, and by his grandparents Tolbert and Geneva Lindsey.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, (August 9, 2012) at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Billy Mason, Mark Parks, and Jimmy Snyder will be officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Salvation Army or the Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville.
