Edward N. Mattingly, age 82, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (January 3, 2008) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born on May 23, 1925 in Breckinridge County, KY, the son of Elza and Temple Douthitt Mattingly. He was a retired farmer, a accomplished musician, being a member of the Musician's Union and was a World War 2 Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Wilson Mattingly, five sons, Charles Edward Mattingly of Terre Haute, IN, Robert Clair Mattingly of Rosedale, IN, Kevin Dale Mattingly of Charlotte, NC, Jimmy Rogers Mattingly of Nashville, TN and Ricky Dean Mattingly of Leitchfield, four daughters, Wilma Louise Felker of Rosedale, IN, Judy Lavonne Mattingly of Plainfield, IN, Brenda Lee Rigdon and Tina Marie Decker both of Leitchfield, two brothers, Leonard of Leitchfield and Elwood Mattingly of Alton, IN, one sister, Edna Matthews of Leitchfield, nineteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Todd Mattingly and two sisters, Lorene Bales and Mildred Despain.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (January 5, 2008) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Billy Hack will be officiating. Burial will be in the Eveleigh Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield after 4:30 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
