Edwin Swift, 62, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (March 09, 2009) at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born January 05, 1947, in Grayson County KY, the son of Ovie and Helen Jackson Swift . He was a retired Jefferson Co. Corrections Officer and a member of the New Freedom Church at Sadler.

He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Carol Swift; his daughter Tammy (Mike) Wilson, his daughter Debbie Ulto, and his mother Helen Jackson Swift all of Leitchfield. Also surviving are his sister Jeanette Trickey of St. Louis, and four grandsons, Adam Sims, Caleb Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Nick Ulto, and his step-grandson Rocky Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his father Ovie, and his son Michael Scott Swift.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sat. (March 14, 2009) at the New Freedom Church in Sadler. Bro. Edward Cockriel and Bro. Clarence Flake will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 2 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to noon Saturday with services to follow at the Church.
