Eleanor Jean Drake, age 91, of Leitchfield, passed away Tuesday, (January 27, 2026) at her residence in Leitchfield, KY.
She was born on October 13, 1934 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, one of eight children, to the late Herbert and Susan Dion Denison.
She was a homemaker, who also at one time, worked at CP Electronics in Leitchfield. She loved to farm, garden and grow her flowers. She was an accomplished seamstress and had made clothing and did repairs on her family’s clothes. She was an excellent cook, always providing great food for her family. She made the best pies, especially her cream pies, that no one has been able to top. She married her late husband, Charles Franklin Drake on May 2, 1964. Together they raised a family and had a wonderful life. Her full-time duty for so long was taking loving care of her autistic son, Travis, until his death. She was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by her four children, Terry Drake (Brenda), Timmy Decker (Elizabeth), Paula Haynes (Danny), and Vicky Culbertson (Mitsuo); nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pat Wolfe (Roger).
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Drake; her two sons, Travis Lee Drake and Eddie Decker; and six siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, (February 8, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Her son-in-law, Danny Haynes, will be giving the eulogy. Burial will be in the Clarkson Cemetery.
