Elizabeth "Gwen" Snyder Roof, age 70, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (August 26, 2023) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY.

She was born on August 20, 1953 in Louisville, KY the daughter of the late James Elmer and Frances Fox Snyder.

She was a former caregiver who enjoyed crocheting, cooking, going to yard sales, tinkering with flowers and shopping. She was an advid bible reader and loved her grandchildren greatly. She was a member of Fox Run Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Rodney Roof (Misty) of Falls of Rough; daughter, Debbie Miller (Troy) of Leitchfield; six grandchildren, Alex, Mason, Aaron, Cameron, Nikki and Aden; three brothers, James Snyder Jr. (Patricia), Barry Snyder (Shirley) of Leitchfield, and Jonathan Snyder (Melissa) of Bowling Green; three sisters, Tona Lindsey (Jeffrey McDowell) of Leitchfield, Ada Nugent (Dennis) of Leitchfield and Sandra Carter of Leitchfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery James Roof and three nephews, Dee, Jamie and Eric.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, (August 31, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. James Snyder Jr. and Bro. Troy Miller will be officiating. In keeping with her wishes cremation will follow.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
