Elvin Burnette, age 91, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (April 17, 2025) at Grayson Manor Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield.

He was born on November 12, 1933, in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late David and Zula Marie Rankin Burnette.

He was an electrician and crane operator who enjoyed hunting fishing, searching flea markets and playing cards. He sang and played guitar in the band, Al Burnette and the Southern Swingsters. His band opened for many big performers in Nashville and the Grand Ole Opry. He also played in many local clubs in Michigan. He was so proud of his musical history in his younger days.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Juna Mooney Burnette; a son, Elvin Burnette Jr. and a daughter, Sandy Coyler, both of Michigan; a step-son, Vernon Jarrell (Anne) of Ohio; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Belinda Jarrell; a granddaughter, Ashley Flannery and multiple brothers and sisters.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen.
