August 2, 1927 – December 3, 2018
With her family by her side, Emma Jean Shain Hack , 91, of Leitchfield, KY, peacefully crossed over into eternal life on December 3, 2018 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. The unfailing love and support of family and friends and her firm belief in God strengthened her during her final days and ultimately gave her peace.
Emma Jean was born on August 2, 1927. She married the late Earl Hack on June 7, 1947 and they had two children, David Earl and Edith Ann, and two other children who died in infancy.
She worked at Cain Sewing Factory and was a homemaker. She was an active member of Leitchfield First Baptist Church and volunteered in the nursery for many years. She enjoyed watching UK basketball, sewing and gardening.
Emma Jean is survived by her son-in-law, James Blanton, of Leitchfield, Ky; two granddaughters, Kimberly Dennison (T.J.) and Emily Beck, both of Leitchfield; two great-granddaughters, Emma Beck and Hattie Dennison; a special niece, Brenda Lacefield; and several nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four children, mother and one sister, Ernestine Harris.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, (December 7, 2018) at the Dermitt Funeral Home. Bro. Doug King will be officiating. Burial will be in the Vol Layman Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Dermitt Funeral Home on Thursday, December 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, December 7, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.Funeral Service
