Emma M. Stapleton, age 83, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (April 24, 2021) at her home in Leitchfield.

She was born on February 21, 1938 in Rockport, IN, the daughter of the late Emmett and Opal Beckort Pharris.

She worked as a sales clerk at Wal-Mart for 27 years and was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Leitchfield.

She is survived by a son, Steve Stapleton (Brenda) of Leitchfield; a daughter, Angela Jones (Keith) also of Leitchfield; three grandchildren, Shannon Brown (Eric), Ian Renfrow (Sam) and Stephen Renfrow (Kaila Moore); nine great-grandchildren, Isabel Blanton, Emmett Campbell, Easton Renfrow, Charlie Campbell, Jackson Watson, Kelton Brown, Parker Brown, Karlee Vincent and Landin Crawford; two step-granddaughters, Leslie Seibert and Kristie Jones; and five step great-grandchildren, Lane, Jake, Harrison, Clayton and Jaxon.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bueford Stapleton, and a brother Emmett Pharris Jr.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, (April 29, 2021) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. David Clark will be officiating. Burial will be in Leitchfield Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
