Ercel Thompson, 78, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (April 10, 2018) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

He was born on October 23, 1939 in Cub Run, KY, the son of the late Thurman and Lilly Thompson.

He was a retired Rough River State Park grounds keeper, who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his daughters Shannon Ford (Jay) of Hardinsburg and Kelly Schultz (Steve) of Olaton; two grandchildren Bryce and Kaia Ford; brother Patrick Thompson of Falls of Rough and sisters Margie Stevenson (Cecil) of Leitchfield, Jeanie Larson of Louisville and Wilma Featherson of Senora; several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Wilson Thompson, brother-in-law Darwin Larson and niece Pamela Griffith.

Cremation was chosen with a memorial service to follow at a later date.
