Erik Ryan McCrady, age 36, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (September 21, 2021) at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY.

He was born on September 3, 1985 in Elizabethtown, KY, the son of James R. McCrady and his late mother, Karon Elaine Newton McCrady.

He was a store manager for Rent-A-Center in Leitchfield. He enjoyed classic cars and motorcycles. He was the best companion to his fiancée, Ginger Vincent and her son, Parker Hurn, the best father to his son, Chandler McCrady and a good Christian man. Erik was a prankster and loved having fun. He was kind and helpful to others. His love was watching Chandler play sports of all kinds. He was a member of the Pleasant Union (Wilson) United Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, Chandler McCrady of Leitchfield; father and step-mother, James and Sandy McCrady of Caneyville; a step-father, Gregory Shawn Willis of Leitchfield; fiancée, Ginger Vincent and son, Parker Hurn; three sisters, Carrie Basham, Wendy Bratcher and Jamie Decker Nelms; one brother, Jeremy Decker; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; his dog, Apollo; and several friends.

Other than his mother, Karon Elaine Newton Willis, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil and Ruby McCrady and Lonnie and Elzora Newton.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (September 29, 2021) at the Pleasant Union (Wilson) United Baptist Church. Bro. Blake Newton will be officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home until noon, at which time we will be leaving for the church.
