Ernie Lee Alvey, age 72, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (October 22, 2026) at Grayson Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on February 02, 1954 in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late Oval and Elizabeth Alvey.

He was a construction worker who enjoyed playing cards, visiting with friends and going on car rides. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He is survived by his son, Scotty Alvey (Falon Hook); daughter, Jessica Barnes (Dallas); six grandchildren, Dayna & Reagan Barnes, Hayley, Christopher & Nicholas Alvey, and Meadow Nelson; one great-grandchild, Leah Carter with another one on the way; and five sisters, Katherine, Helen, Lillie, Wilma and Mary. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Pete, Nettie, Geneva, Effie, Alene & Virgil and an infant sister, Rosalee.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, (October 26, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
