Ethel Smith, age 93, of Louisville, KY, passed away Monday, (April 28, 2014) at The Altenheim in Louisville, KY.

She was born on August 22, 1920 in Edmonson Co., KY, the daughter of the late William and Lorena Bailes Yates.

She was a housewife and homemaker and was a charter member of the Rockfordview United Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sherrill and Joetta Smith, her grandchildren, Brent Smith and his wife, Cara and Missy Medley and her husband, Joe Lee all of Louisville, and three great-grandchildren, Megan and Ashley Smith and Olivia Medley.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Osa Smith, and her brothers and sisters, Elmer and Paul Yates, Cova Dean, Ollie Rich, Cuba Rich and Ruby Dermitt.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. EDT Thursday, (May 1, 2014) at the Rockfordview United Baptist Church at 2511 Wilkerson Ave, Louisville KY . Bro. Larry Tucker will be officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Hill Cemetery at 1 p.m. EDT Friday.

Visitation will be at the Owen Funeral Home at 5317 Dixie Highway Louisville, KY from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and at the Rockfordview United Baptist Church from 6:00 p.m. Thursday until time of services.
