Obituary
Eugene "Pete" Blair, age 94, of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away Tuesday, (December 20, 2016) at Signature Healthcare of Elizabethtown.
He was born on June 17, 1922, in Edmonson County, Kentucky, the son of the late Reverend James Wesley and Mary Belle Gipson Blair.
He was a US Army Veteran who served in World War II who owned and operated his own concrete construction company. He was a member of New Harmony United Baptist Church, the Edmonson County Memorial Post 3967, and the Pilgrim Masonic Lodge #545.
He is survived by his children, Sandy Blair of Elizabethtown, Debra Tipton (Bobby) of Mt. Washington, KY, Paul Blair of Greensburg, KY; four grandchildren, Chad and Chelsea Cannon, Gavin Baxley and Jason Tipton; a brother, Windy Blair of Louisville, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jim Blair, and eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. CST Friday, (December 23, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jim Blair will be officiating. Burial will be in the Jaggers Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
