Eugene Rudolph Hinkle, age 83, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Thursday, (July 12th, 2007) at the University Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on June 17, 1924, in Fairdale, KY, the son of William and Daisy Virginia Arnold Hinkle.

He was retired from American Air Filter and an Army World War 2 Veteran. He also was a volunteer Fire Fighter for the Falls of Rough Fire Dept.

The "old soldier" was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty years, Lois Hinkle, his daughter, Anita Hinkle, and his grandson, Jason Hinkle.

Survivors include his three sons, Russell Hinkle Sr., Thomas "Tommy" Hinkle and Marty Hinkle, three daughters-in-law, Nancy Hinkle, Patty Hinkle and Carrie Hinkle, his grandchildren, Sabrina Edlin, Russell Hinkle Jr. and Christine Hinkle, his sister, Jenny Browning and husband, Roy, brothers, Bill Hinkle and his wife Doris and Elmer Hinkle and his wife, Donna, his sisters-in-law, Myra Solomon and Helen Pollock and brother-in-law, Ila "Joe" Pollock, his great grandchildren, Savannah Henning, Zoie Edlin,Madeline Edlin,Brett, Johnathan and Bethany his grand children in-laws, Bo Edlin and Kristina Hinkle.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday (July 15, 2007) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. David Boggs will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sand Knob Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and after 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Sunday.
