Euna Stanton, age 89, formerly of Leitchfield Kentucky, passed away February 3rd, 2024 peacefully surrounded by family at her son's home in Chelsea, Alabama.

She was born on August 13th, 1934 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Martin "Goodler" and Mary Haycraft.

Euna was a member of Broadway Missionary Baptist Church.  She loved to sing old hymns and attend church and was a faithful servant of God. She was appointed unanimously by the Republican Party in Grayson County to finish serving her late husband's term as the Grayson County Jailer in 1981.  She went on to be elected as the first woman Jailer in Grayson County and worked in various positions in the Jail for a total of 49 years before retiring.  She loved flowers, the sunshine, shopping, cooking, eating good food, and spending time with her children and her grandchildren. They were the light of her life.

Euna is survived by three children; Sheila Stanton Clark of Bowling Green, Ky, Joey Stanton (Dee) of Chelsea, AL  and Stephen Stanton of Union, KY.  10 grandchildren; Derrick Bratcher, Sarah Capp, Matt Stanton, Ashley Champion, Raven Vincent, Zach Warren, Luke Stanton, Clay Stanton, Mason Stanton, & Maddi Stanton; 10 great-grandchildren; Caleb Bratcher, Brady Bratcher, Cade Capp, Cambryn Capp, Emmitt Champion, Gunnar Champion, Avett Champion, Easton Vincent, Dawson Vincent, & Creed Vincent and many other family members and friends that will greatly miss her.

Euna was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Stanton; her grand-sons, Joshua Stanton, Daniel Bratcher, Brothers, Van Haycraft, James Haycraft, and Ambrose Haycraft; and two sisters; Lizzie Ward, and Imogene Sloan; and son-in-law, Hollis Clark.

Funeral services will be held on February 11th, 2024 at Broadway Missionary Baptist Church in Leitchfield at 1 p.m.  Bro's Hank Gibson and Vurles Logsdon will be officiating.

Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Burial will be at the Stanton Cemetery.  Dermitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
