Obituary
Eva Mae Newton, age 87, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (June 19, 2015) at her home.
She was born on July 15, 1927 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Harvey and Linnie Meredith Decker.
She was a homemaker, who enjoyed sewing, Cooking, quilting, gardening and reading her bible and was a member of the Thomas Homemakers and attended the Bloomington General Baptist Church for almost 40 years.
She is survived by five daughters, Corenia Saltsman (Willie), June Adcox (Wesley) and Mary Decker (Jim) of Leitchfield, Karen Cannon (Bruce) of Falls of Rough, KY and Sharon Poteet (Jerry) of Big Clifty, KY, eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and one great great Grandchild, two brothers, Woodrow Decker of Rineyville, KY and Jessie Decker of North Carolina and one sister, Wanda Dupin of Big Clifty and many cherished loved ones and friends.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Newton, a daughter, Florenia Newton, three brothers, William, Tony and Lonnie Tilford Decker and two sisters, Birtie Decker, and Mable Saltsman.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (June 21, 2015) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jerry Decker and Bro. Billy Bertram will be officiating. Burial will be in the Wortham Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
