Eveline S. Johnson, age 82, of Sunfish, passed away Sunday, (September 16, 2018) at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

She was born on August 16, 1936 in Sunfish, KY, the daughter of the late William Harvey and Cicly Hayes Stewart.

She retired as a sewing machine operator, working there for over 30 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, sewing, reading, spending time with her grandchildren, and all children. She was a member of the Independence Slate Bank General Baptist Church since 1982.

She is survived by her children, Timmy Johnson of Brownsville, Tammy Kay Blair (Tim Brewster) of Ollie, and Kathy Sue Dennis (Damon) of Sunfish; seven grandchildren, Heather Yoakem (Brian), Nicholas Blair (Cierra), Ryan (Teylor), Kevin (Trisha), and Michael (Hannah) Johnson, Savannah Roof (Randy) and Courtney Decker (Brian); eight great-grandchildren; brother, William Earl Stewart of South, sisters, Jeanetta Hardin and Cora Meredith both of Louisville, and Rosanna Vanover of Leitchfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Lee Johnson, brother, Shirley Stewart and the father of her children, Elmer Johnson.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Thursday, (September 20, 2018) at the Independence Slate Bank General Baptist Church. Bro. Neal Carnes and Bro. Dagwood Huff will be officiating. Burial will be in the South Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, with services following at the church.
