Evelyn Arlene Day Brooks, age 71, of Anneta, KY, passed away Saturday, (February 25, 2017) at Norton's Hospital in Louisville, KY.

She was born on November 9, 1945 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Rev. Edward and Iva May Hazelwood Day.

She was a housewife and a member of the North Town United Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Brooks of Anneta; son, James Brooks (Kerry) and daughter, Melissa Stanton (Randy) both of Anneta; three grandchildren, Michelle Sparks (Justin), MaKayla Lasley, Baylee Brooks; three great-grandchildren, Dalton Lasley, Parker Lasley and Reagan Dales; one brother, John Day (Donna) of Elizabethtown, KY; three sisters, Pernelia Saltsman (Lonzo) of Smiths Grove, KY, Brenda Jaggers (Skeeter) and Edie Ferguson, both of Anneta.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Christopher Lasley and Christopher Stanton; a brother, Leonard Carie; and a brother-in-law Gayle Ferguson.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (February 28, 2017) at the Anneta United Baptist Church in Anneta, KY. Bros. Bobby Jo Meredith and Garry Watkins will be officiating. Burial will be in the Anneta Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and at the Anneta United Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the family to assist with medical expenses.
