Evelyn Fletcher

Evelyn Fletcher, age 87, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (June 16, 2026) at her residence.

She was born on October 19, 1938, in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Roger and Marie Whitaker Cureton.

Evelyn had worked as a cook at various restaurants in Leitchfield, including The Bus Station, Hobby House, and Jr. Food Store. She enjoyed cooking, loved to do bird watching, especially cardinals, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She married her late husband, Hartsell Frank Fletcher in February 1956. They enjoyed traveling until his passing in 2021. She was a member of the Millwood Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Greg Fletcher; grandchildren, Abigail Fletcher-Flores, Samantha Fletcher-Taylor, Gabriel Fletcher, Garrett Fletcher, and Gavin Fletcher; and also by eight great-grandchildren.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hartsell Fletcher; son, Larry Fletcher; and her brother, Charles W. Cureton.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, (June 19, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
