Everett Clayton Evans, age 90, of New Albany, IN, (formerly of Leitchfield, KY) passed away Thursday, (March 05, 2026) at Villages at Silver Crest in New Albany.

He was born on March 25, 1935, in Butler County, KY, the son of the late Hushel and Pansy Swift Evans.

A former Mason, Clayton worked at Kitchen Kompact for 30 years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, wood-working, metal-working, going to church and camping with friends and family. He was a member of the Greenwood United Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, Christian “Chris” Evans (Tina Boyle) of New Albany, IN; a grandson, Corey Evans; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Brenda Childress (Steve) of Louisville, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lenora “Lynn” Vincent Evans; a son, Michael Evans; and a brother, Larry Evans.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, (March 11, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. CST Wednesday until time of services.
