Everett Lasley Sr, age 84, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (March 29, 2018) at Springview Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield.

He was born on July 12 1933 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late James C. and Deloris McClure Lasley.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retired civil servant who enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, spending time in nature and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member and deacon of the Liberty Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hayes Lasley of Leitchfield; two sons, Everett Lasley Jr., of Nicholasville, KY and James Andrew "Andy" Lasley of Leitchfield; a daughter, Cheryl L. Johnston (Jimmy) of Leitchfield; six grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher and Alida Lasley, Matt & Dillon Lasley, and Chad Johnston; two great grandchildren, Eli and Sawyer Johnston; brother, James M. Lasley of Leitchfield; sister, Alma Louise Saunders of Afton, New York; sister-in-law, Sylvia Lasley of Louisville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Hendrika Alida Langenhorst Lasley; three brothers, Kenneth, Arvell and Percy H. Lasley; and two sisters, Thelma Hayes and Wilma Givans.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (April 3, 2018) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Scott Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
