Fayetta Barton, age 87, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Monday, (June 16, 2025) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield.

She was born on December 08, 1937 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Rex and Olive VanMeter Hayse.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors, playing Bingo with her friends at the BeeHive Assisted Living and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Kim Cannon (Mike) and Bryan Barton (April), both of Falls of Rough, KY; five grandchildren, Amanda Lambert (Jonathan), Adam Barton, Dustin Cannon (Erin), Austin Cannon (Brittney) and Zelma Barton; eight great-grandchildren, Brycen, Brody & Brynlee Lambert, Chloe & Riley Cannon, and Kennedy, Carter & Karsen Cannon. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, JR Barton; a son, Jeffrey Barton; and three brothers, Merlin, Verildean & Ronald Hayse.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, (June 23, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Mike Cannon will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
