Floran Brooks Byrd, age 95 , of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (April 20, 2022) at Grayson Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield.

She was born on December 11, 1926 in Falls of Rough, KY, the daughter of the late Oscar Floran and Sylvania Fentress Dupree.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and selling different items and was a member of the West Main Church of Christ.

She is survived by one son, Charles Richard Brooks (Nancy); three daughters, Charlotte Ann Ruth (David), Marilyn Kay Webb (Steve), Patricia Elizabeth Smith (Mark);   eight grandchildren, Julie Schmidt (Kenny), Dawn DeRossett (Paul), Michael Stiles, (Amy), Jennifer Fox (Barry), Reagen Tan (James), Amanda Campbell, Heather Gumm (Daniel), and Blain Brooks; 17 great-grandchildren, Malori (Chris),  Brooklyn, Shelby, Kent (Sarah), Alex, Tyler, Macey (Michael), Joey, Seth, Rileigh, Eli, Colin, Harley Jae, Carson, Luke, Colton, and Harper; one great-great grandchild, Via. A special cousin, Gladys Drane also survives. The family would like to give a very special thanks to Grayson Manor.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Brooks and a special cousin, Deloris Craig.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, (April 23, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jeff Richardson will be officiating. Burial will be in the Pilgrim Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
