Frances Mahurin Purcell Litsey, age 89, of Short Creek, KY, passed away Tuesday, (September 12, 2017) at Grayson Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield.

She was born on March 19, 1928 in Tousey, KY, the daughter of the late Ivan and Mary Frances Young Mahurin.

She was a retired school teacher, a member of the Short Creek Eastern Star #27 and a member of Short Creek United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna Frances Tubb (Dennis) of Short Creek; two grandchildren, Angela Cannon (Jerrod) of Glendale, KY; Jason Tubb (Sarah) of Yeaman, KY; four great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Stella Cannon and Alaina and Kayla Tubb; a sister, Napolee Patterson of Troy, AL. A step-daughter, several step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George Robert "Bobby" Purcell and Wilbur Litsey; four brothers, Walter, Albert, Edgar and Hubert Mahurin and two sisters, Vera Young and Christeen Sharp.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, (September 15, 2017) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. David Brown will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
