Freeman C. “Skeeter” Jaggers, age 82, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (March 3, 2026) at his residence.
He was born on May 4th, 1943, in Bulter County, the son of the late Eudy and Lona Cardwell Jaggers. At the age of six weeks old his father passed, and at that time his mother, with seven children to raise went to work, and his grandparents Willie Green Jaggers and Bertha Brooks Jaggers adopted him so his mother could work.
He was a Husband, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, who worked at Papa Johns for 25 years, Leitchfield Cleaners and was the Fire Chief at Anneta Fire Department for four years. “Skeeter” as he was affectionately known was a faithful member of Anneta United Baptist Church, where he was saved in a revival on March 19, 1985. He was ordained as a Deacon on July 30th, 1995, and remained a faithful member until his death.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Brenda Jaggers; son, Tracy Jaggers; five grandchildren; Mandy, Aleisha, Ryan, Melodie and Mason whom he loved very much and seven great-grandchildren; Charlie, Dani, Anna, Lukas, Jodi Sue, NovaLeigh, and Joseph; One Brother Albert (Jr) Cardwell, and a Sister in Law, Betty Cardwell. A host of nieces, nephews, and many friends also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Libby Ellen Jaggers and a son, Brian Keith Jaggers. Four Brothers; Charles, Carl, Neal, and Jerry Cardwell. Two Sisters; Corbia Bell, and Mable. Two great-grandchildren; Temperance Jubilee, and Serenity.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, (March 9, 2026) at Anneta United Baptist Church. Bro. Blake Newton will be officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Anneta United Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday March 8th, 2026, and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
