Gary Lynn Harrell, age 78 , of Greenville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, (April 16, 2022) at his residence.

He was born on March 21, 1944 in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late Orlin Boyd and Florence Harp Harrell.

He retired from the U. S. Air Force serving over 28 years. He became a truck driver for Bush Trucking after retirement from the military. He was a member of VFW Post #1693 in New Albany, Indiana. He enjoyed collecting tractors, playing cards and karaoke. Gary was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his sons, Kevin Barnes (Kelly) of Georgetown, Indiana and Gary Wayne Harrell of Greenville, Indiana; grandchildren, Kristy Shields (Chris), Keri Maggard (Nathan), Kyle Barnes (Kayla) and Tiffany Meeker; great-grandchildren, Maddy Shields, Conner Shields, Chase Bright, Brayden Maggard, Shane Cundiff, Everett Cundiff, Kasen Barnes, Audrey Moore and Declan Meeker.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Barger Harrell and his brother, Kerwin Harrell.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m.  Wednesday, (April 20, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Rev. Paul Shelton will be officiating. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
