Gary Alton Johnson, Sr., age 74 , of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (December 19, 2022) at his residence.

He was born on October 25, 1948 in Grayson County, KY. to the late James Jeremiah and Francis Marie Darnell Johnson.

He retired from Campbell Hausfeld.  Gary was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1969 until 1977. He was married to his wife, Sandra Lynch Johnson until her death.

He is survived by his sons; Steven Douglas, Gary Alton and James Jeremiah Johnson all of Leitchfield; three grandchildren, Dakota, Tyler and Gavin Johnson; and brothers, Gerald, Howard J., Roger L., and Darrell D. Johnson; sister, Beverly F. Wells. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Lynch Johnson; sister, Delores Brown and brothers, Delton L., Larry B. and Phillip D. Johnson.

Visitation services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Friday, (December 30, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, ending at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY on Tuesday January 10, 2023 at 11:30p.m. C.S.T. (12:30 p.m. E.S.T.)
