Obituary
Geneva E. Jackson Smith, age 94, of Big Reedy, KY, passed away Saturday, (January 7, 2012) at the Morgantown Care & Rehab.
She was born on January 14, 1917, in Caneyville, KY, the daughter of the late John Riley and Mary Ellen Layman Jackson. She was a retired Librarian and attended the New Harvest Baptist Church here in Caneyville.
She is survived by one son, Larry Smith and his wife Joann of Caneyville, one sister, Gertrude Huff of Leitchfield, grandchildren, Leslie Cena (Robert) of Brownsville and Steven Smith (Heather) of Leitchfield and her great grandchildren Jacob and Emma Grace Cena and Eli and Hannah Smith.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold and one sister Eva Higgs.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. (January 9, 2012) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Steven Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Cemetery.
